Should you come?
My father asks four things of anyone who sits in our courtyard. If these are true for you, write to us.
- You are coming to take part, not to photograph a ceremony.
- You can begin before six in the morning, and wait without asking when it ends.

- You accept that my father may say the day is not right, and that this is the answer.

I grew up in this house. My father is its priest. These are our words, not a stranger's.
People search every day for what melukat is, or what a lontar reading feels like, and they find writing by visitors, or text no person wrote at all. So we are setting it down ourselves, with my father reading everything about ceremony before you do.
There is nothing to buy here. Tell us what you are carrying, and we will answer honestly, including when the answer is that the day is not right.
